Ode to McNally's Schmitter
*Limited Quantities* Steak with extra cheese, fried onions, tomatoes, grilled salami with SchMitter sauce on kaiser roll. One-of-a-kind sandwich created and served at McNally's Tavern in Chestnut Hill, PA over 50 years ago. The Schmitter was named after a regular customer who only drank Schmidt's beer. Aka "Philadelphia's Big League Sandwich" as it's served at both Phillies and Eagles games. We attempt to recreate this sandwich, but it will be only close to the real thing. Totally worth a visit to McNally's Tavern for the real thing.

Philly South Steaks hit the road in 2023 with the mission to provide an authentic cheesesteak experience to Middle TN. Our menu offers an opportunity to explore the famous sandwich by using a variety of cheeses and toppings found in the many shops throughout Philadelphia. Try provolone as it was originally used at Pats in 1930 or Cheese Whiz as became popular in the 50's or Cooper Sharp American as a more contemporary choice. We have been recently honored by being placed on the top 20 list of Nashville Food Trucks on bestfoodtrucks.com.
